Almost all pan bottoms are non-stick, but this is not an absolute guarantee. Many materials, in fact, over time, can release harmful substances, ruining the dishes and altering their taste. Materials

Evaluating the materials of the pans is important because the structure of the tool determines how it can be used, the heat sources it is compatible with, the temperatures it can withstand and the durability before wear. Here, then, are the best materials to consider.

Aluminium

  • is a good heat conductor;
  • is a lightweight material for sale at reasonable prices;
  • it lasts a long time;
  • it is usually coated with other materials to prevent it from coming into direct contact with food. In fact, if not treated well, it can be toxic;
  • it can be cleaned with products that are not particularly aggressive.

Stainless steel

Ceramics

  • this material diffuses heat evenly, holding up even at medium to high temperatures. It is particularly suitable for frying or browning;
  • it has limited non-stick properties and it is necessary to protect the bottom of the tool before cooking;

Iron

Cast iron
